The sun is warm, the water is cool, and you’re relaxing with friends—it’s a good day to be at the beach. Cherokee artist Bryan Waytula has made sure your pool party stays bright with a summer sky palette and traditional pattern. “The traditional basket weaving pattern here is called the Noon Day Sun,” shares Bryan. “Sun is a friend, which you bring with you in your Noon Day Sun Beach Towel.” As with his Cherokee Treasure Wool Blanket, Bryan merges the historic with the here-and-now by adapting a traditional weaving pattern for a new type of textile. “This Noon Day Sun pattern is just a small glimpse into the wide array of traditional patterns Cherokee basket weavers would implement into the flat reed and rivercane works of art,” shares Bryan. Whether you’re floating the river, chilling on the beach, or catching rays poolside, don’t forget your Noon Day Sun Beach Towel—no extra SPF required!
