Mother Earth Throw Blanket

A tribute to Sogo Bia (Mother Earth in Shoshone), Kira Murillo (Shoshone-Bannock) designed our richly detailed Mother Earth Cotton Throw Blanket because of her deep love of our sacred planet.

“My connection to our Sogo Bia is everything to me,” shares Kira, who is one of the nation’s most sought-after tattoo artists. As a jingle dress dancer, a regalia designer, artist, and tattooist, Kira is continually inspired by the landscape around her and our life-giving Earth. References to the natural world often appear in her art, all rendered in her bold, color-blocking style.

In this authentic, Native-designed blanket, Kira has beautifully merged the organic shapes of flowers with geometric forms in a shining sunburst that represents Mother Earth. In it she combines traditional Shoshone-Bannock designs with a fun, modern color palette that radiates life, growth, and energy. Our Mother Earth Cotton Throw Blanket is a gorgeous reminder of our special world, and our sacred duty to care for her. “We must take care of her so she can continue to take care of us,” says Kira.
