Kasheeshi Earrings

The wind blows across the mesa, spinning grains of sand and rattling the leaves of cornstalks as they stretch toward the silver disc of sun high above. When it's not sunny, the corn is nourished by cool drops of desert rain. Inspired Natives® Collaborator Michelle Lowden (Acoma Pueblo) has honored this important food staple in her Kasheeshi Earrings, which features a central corn motif with elements representing both rain and mountains.

Kasheeshi means "white corn" in Keres, the language indigenous to the Pueblo of Acoma. Says Michelle of her people's beloved corn, "This extraordinary crop not only delights the palate but also safeguards the invaluable Acoma culture for countless generations to come. Can you fathom that a solitary ear of corn possesses the potential to sow the seeds of a prosperous future?"

These exquisitely-detailed rhodium-plated earrings are an elegant addition to any outfit. Pair with a casual white button-down shirt and jeans for a laid-back look, or accessorize your evening attire with a touch of silver sparkle.
